RESIDENCY COORDINATOR
The Contemporary Artists Center, Woodside in Troy, NY is looking for a dynamic individual to coordinate our national and international artist residency program and attend to the needs of the artists in residence.
This is a live-in position.
The Residency Coordinator position assists residency artists in both their studio and non-studio needs to create and maintain a professional atmosphere conducive to productivity and creativity within the residential community.
Duties include:

coordinating artist arrival and residency stay

orienting artists to Woodside
-
assisting with tools, materials & scheduling critiques

providing day-to-day attention to artists during their residency
-
keeping facility maintained and in order
-
providing general hospitality services as needed
-
documenting artists while in residence
Requirements: Position requires excellent communication skills, superior interpersonal and organizational skills, and a deep commitment to contemporary art, and the value of the creative process.
We have a small office where we all pitch in. Like everyone else, the Residency Coordinator will perform a variety of functions as needed. General knowledge of multiple art mediums, methods and tools required. Please list in your resume. New media a plus. Must be patient and attentive.
Position is part-time 20-25 hours per week and includes on site housing and a $100/week stipend. Interviews begin immediately and applications will be accepted until filled.

Internships
Throughout the year several 3-12 month internships are available, from curation and design to art installation and administrative work. Interns are expected to work 15-20 hours per week. Unfortunately, stipends will not be available for 2013. Interns need not be currently enrolled in a degree program.

Exhibition & installation Interns: The CAC is looking for two interns for the Summer season that will assist in curation and exhibition needs. One intern will need construction skills and/or familiarity with construction tools.
Design & Marketing Intern: One intern will be selected to assist with website and social networking updates, documentation of program activities and general marketing.
Volunteer
The CAC always welcomes those interested in volunteering time and talent for our organization. We work with dozens and dozens of volunteers each year, from lawyers and skilled professionals, to gallery docents and students.
On the administration side, office help is always appreciated.
